Kitty continues to have moments when she acts like Josette Collins.
Synopsis
- Collinwood at the turn of the century, and a tortured night for one who finds herself having an unexplainable dream about a woman she has just met.
Kitty has a nightmare about Angelique confronting her. Kitty questions Quentin about Angelique's history. Later she is overtaken by Josette's spirit and visits Jeremiah's grave. There she tells Jeremiah that she never wished for his death.
Quentin starts to suspect that Barnabas is still alive. Count Petofi gives Quentin the ring off of his hand; Quentin is unable to remove the ring from his finger.

Production

- There is a different loveseat from usual in the Collinwood drawing room in Act I. This one is blue and much less Victorian-looking.
Story
- Angelique says she has never been to England.
- Count Petofi learnt a fascinating trick when in the Middle East years ago. The ring he wears comes from there; it symbolizes a new life.
- Edward mentions poet John Donne.
- DREAM SEQUENCE: Kitty dreams she is Josette (reprised from previous episode).
- INTERNAL MONOLOGUE: Kitty: Where was I? (reprised from previous episode) / Barnabas; Quentin: (recalling Count Petofi's words).

Bloopers and continuity errors
- At the start of Act I, the camera momentarily pans right too far, showing Lara Parker waiting for her cue. (Actually, Angelique was eavesdropping.) (She is standing very still and is all the way upstage. It looks more like Lara Parker waiting for her cue than Angelique eavesdropping.)
- In Act I, when Angelique says, "She reminds me of someone I loathed," a boom mic shadow passes over her.
- At the portrait of Barnabas, Kitty calls Edward "Joshua Collin" rather than "Collins."
- At the rectory, when Quentin says, "Julia, I know why you stayed in our time," the Collinsport Fly flies up past his face.
- When Edward tells Kitty that "rest and love" will cure her, a thumping noise from off-stage sounds twice.
