Harry pulls a knife on Adam and threatens to take him to the police. They struggle, and later Carolyn stops Adam from killing Harry.
Synopsis
- The great house of Collinwood appears serene in the afternoon sunshine. But one man's life is in grave danger. He is about to discover the secret of the closed off west wing. And the discovery of that secret may result in his death.
Adam is furious to find Harry outside his room. Harry lies and claims that Carolyn sent him. Once Adam lets him go, Harry pulls a knife and tells him he intends to collect the reward for his capture. Adam overpowers him, and is about to kill him when Carolyn interrupts.
Carolyn tells Adam to let Harry go, but Harry then tries to blackmail her for keeping Adam a secret. Carolyn responds that she knows enough to send him back to prison, so they come to an agreement: Harry will help her with Adam, and Carolyn will tell his mother that she's hired him as the family chauffeur. Adam kisses Carolyn, but she asks him never to do it again. Nicholas summons Dr. Lang's ghost.

Bloopers and continuity errors
- At the very beginning of Act I, when Adam is strangling Harry, Craig Slocum is seen looking to the side for his cue, and then starts to grimace and plead to Adam.
- When Cassandra plays the Dr. Lang tape once again at the end of her scene with Nicholas in the drawing room, Craig Slocum can be heard saying his first line for the next scene ("Open that...") too early. Then, when the scene starts, Robert Rodan can be seen looking to his right for his cue for the scene to begin.
- When Nancy Barrett exits Adam's room, she has to wait more than ten seconds before Craig Slocum finally realizes that he has to speak his line.
- A boom microphone shadow can be seen as Nicholas returns to Collinwood.
- At the end of episode, when Cassandra and Nicholas are talking at the foyer stairway, there is a clanking sound off-stage.
- At the end of the episode, Lara Parker and Humbert Allen Astredo step on each other's lines. When Nicholas says, "Do you understand?" Cassandra answers, "Yes." Nicholas begins to say, "I hope..." while Cassandra finishes her line, "Yes, I understand."
- When Cassandra is thinking about destroying Adam at the end of the episode, there is noise bleeding onto the tape and, briefly, a voice saying something, likely remnants of something previously erased on the tape.
